When: July 17th
Where: Albany to NYC down the Hudson River
More Info: Two middle school teachers with intermediate maritime experience will get into a canoe and attempt to paddle from Albany to NYC down the majestic Hudson River. Well, “That takes balls,” you are probably saying aloud. And you’re right. Unfortunately, when your stowed-away marbles go unexamined, you run the risk of missing early signs of testicular cancer, the most common cancer diagnosed in men between the ages of 15 and 40. These two courageous educators are embarking on this aquatic journey to raise awareness of testicular cancer and to promote self-examinations. You can show your support for their cause by clicking on the link below to donate. All money raised will go to the Sean Kimerling Testicular Cancer Foundation, whose mission is to “increase early detection of testicular cancer,” through the proliferation of self-exam information and the creation of “relevant and exciting programs that engage and resonate” with men who are most at-risk. Follow the canoe against cancer adventure in the weeks leading up to and the eventual voyage to NYC, by visiting the blog page. Join in the fun and pay homage to Henry Hudson and men like him who helped charter unknown waters, because they couldn’t have done it without balls. http://www.canoeballs.com/testicular_cancer_awareness/Welcome.html
